U of R Swimming Pool Rules

Aquatic Attendants/Lifeguards are in charge have the authority to enforce all pool/facility rules and to make additional rules to ensure everyone’s safety

  1. Swimmers must take a shower before going into the water.
  2. No running, pushing, excessive splashing, or rough play.
  3. No shoes or street clothes on pool deck.
  4. No food or drink containers allowed on pool deck.
  5. Face masks, snorkels and scuba equipment allowed only at specified times.
  6. Only those flotation devices approved by lifeguards allowed.
  7. During University and family swims, children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
  8. No bobby pins or chewing gum in pool area.
  9. No sport bags or extra clothes on pool deck.  Only towels may be brought into pool area.
  10. One long blast of the whistle indicates swim session is over.  Please vacate the pool.
  11. Three long blasts of the whistle indicates an emergency signal for all persons to clear the pool.
  12. No backward jumping or diving from pool side.
